Thread: Today I Received My Freedom In The Mail!!

I applied for the Freedom card on February 6th. I applied over the internet and got this dreaded message


Thank you for applying. Your application requires further review before making a decision.

Here's what you can expect:

•Our goal is to notify you in writing within 10 days; however, in some circumstances it may take up to 30 days.
•If you are approved, you will receive your card and other important information in the mail.
•Please do not resubmit this application.

I waited about 12 hrs, and with the help of this wonderful forum, I found the recon number and gave them a call.

Chase needed to verify a couple pieces of information from me and I was instanly approved with a CL of $3500 I was happy I was approved, but was disatisfied with the CL..

I talked to the same recon rep, asked if I could be transfered to their credit dept. for a CLI increase, he was happty to do so. Very great customer service so far!!

I got to the credit dept. with in like 2 mins, talked to the guy explained my situation and asked for a CL of $5k. He put my request through and said that my request went to a pending status and that I would hear something in writing in the mail.


Well FF to today, I got my Freedom card today in the mail... The first thing I went to look for was to see if my CL request had gone through or not.


Today I opened my welcome package, and my CL was increased from $3500 to $5k!!!!!


So stoked to use this card now!

Just read my packet.. Well I read the important stuff LOL.. Any my APR is 18.99%


Well, really it doesn't matter to me. I pay the balance off in full at the end of each month.


And when they ran my credit, my score was a 695. Doesn't which bureau they used either.

Who here also has a Chase checking acct? What are the perks with having the Freedom and a Chasse checking acct?

Can someone explain the 10+10 program I keep readign about???

I can only speak for the checking account. I believe there is also a benefit to having the Chase Sapphire Preferred, but not positive.

The checking account provides a 10% bonus on points you get from purchases, so instead of 1% on non-bonus categories, you get 1.1% and for the bonus categories you get 5.5%. In addition, you get 10 points per swipe, which is equivalent to 10 cents. It makes the card unbeatable for small purchases (<$10 or so).

10+10 = 10 extra points per purchase, and a 10% point bonus.

Do you have to use the debit card with the checking acct to take advantage of the 10+10? B/C i don't use my debit card at all anymore, everything is put on credit card.


So using the Freedom card, a normal purchase (not from the bonus category) will get me 1 bonus point correct? Then using the bonus category I get 5 points. Now I am all confused lol..


So for instance, Chase for the 1st Q, one of their bonus catergories is gas (5%). Say I make a $80, how many points or money do I get back? 4 pts or $4???


Then how would the 10+10 come into play using the Freedom CC??
