I hate to say it but you are not the only one that B of A gives the shaft too. They are notorious for screwing their customers to try and get the most out of them. They pulled the same thing with me a couple years back but luckily I was only using the money for an investment and they were offering a 0 APR for it which was free cash as far as I was concerned but they cleared a payment 1 week after it was sent out to them and make my payment late along with revoking the 0 APR i sent them to hell and cleared the balance. I gave them another chance last month to see if they had learned anything after the credit crunch and they haven't and tried to screw me again with the same crap. As far as I'm concerned the only card that exists is my Am Ex Platinum I don't need any others and if you can afford just using it that's the only true way to go. If I were you I would try to find some way to clear my account with B of A sent it to some one else (I hear Discover is very good at this type of stuff as well) and never do business with B of A again. BUt i would look into Discover they might be able to supply a workable loan for you or a balance transfer at a lower APR
thanks for the info Extreme, I'll look into discover for a transfer.
It's too bad that B of A couldn't have been one of the fatalities of the credit crunch. They are a bank that really deserved to go bye-bye.
They suck big time. I called because they didn't add automatic payment of minimum due to my card, so I wound up being late, (despite having existing automatic payments) and they put me on an APR that's near 30% and socked me with huge fee, AND when I inquired about a paydown, despite numerous admonitions NOT to start one, they cancelled my card. When I reopened it, they cut my limit in half. Finally, their customer service people are by far the worst I have ever dealt with, in any venue, which is saying a lot.
I suffered throgh a lot with them, but I've had enough.

I don't think you are alone buddy. I have seen a lot of bad things on the credit card forums here about Bank of America. They really have become too big for their own good they have forgot how to take care of the people paying their fat salaries.
bank of america tries to make you default now. i saw a program on tv about the penis who started the algorythms to make late payments and bounced checks.
I'm closing my BOA accounts; been with them too long.
Hate to admit it but I still use B of A for their online bill pay. Anyone know of any credit unions which have a good online billpay service in my area?

Hi,
Unfortunately BOA is not as bad as Chase. For some reason my payment mailed ten days before due to BOA did not make it until three days late. BOA charged $29 late fee and no interest. I called BOA and they very pleasantly removed the late fee.
Chase, on the other hand, charged me $39 late fee for being one day late (I was late even though I am rarely late). In addition, they charged me interest on the total amount of my bill rather than on the amount due. They removed the late fee but were insistent that the laws allowed them to charge this additional interest. They told me they could not remove this "usuary" interest. Chase is "penny wise and pound foolish". I have had this card for many years, used it almost exclusively but will only use it sparingly now.
I use BofA for their free checking and online banking they are way better than Archaic Wells Fargo Website. Also I use their Bankamericard World points for 1.5% back and have loved it. Bank of America seems to have the lowest APR that I have seen with rewards, on this card @ 7.24% APR. Writing letters for disputes to the presidents team is the way to go. Every time I have had a problem a snail mail letter has done the trick.
