Default Hiilarious thing from Credit Karma

I recently got 3 cards and I figured they would show in Credit Karma soon. I noticed today my score went WAY up, and it was due to one of the cards (CK Scores are worthless but that's another story).

I was curious which reported I knew from past experience it wasn't Discover as they take months to post. It was Barclays. Check out what I saw:

Notice the date opened? I would have been 4 years old if that were true.

No wonder I got such a boost! Isn't that a hoot?

That's what I was thinking! I wonder if they could backdate to before I was born? Or would that even matter?

Thanks for reporting that. That looks like a MySQL DB Date error. The date is synonymous with a zero entry. I'll report a bug to to TU and our team.

Regarding your score going up, it mostly likely has nothing to do with the date but rather that you have a new credit line and more open to buy.

As for the score itself, we (Credit Karma) don't create them. We buy them directly from TransUnion. We know for a fact several users are using some of the scores we buy. Everyone has their own opinions about different scores and I probably won't change it here.

    Thanks for trying our service.
