Thread: Newbie to Freedom. Help Please??

Hi Everyone!

I've cleared almost all of the negatives on my Credit Report and I got my score into the low 700's just by doing that and writing letters for removal.

I was just approved for the Chase Freedom with a $500 spending limit.

My question is what is the way to use this card? I know it seems like a general question but I do not know much about credit cards and all I can think about doing is building, building...and guess what else.... building!

Make sure you have a chase checking for maximum rewards. Then just keep swiping.

I would use the card for the 5% cash back on rotating categories. I don't know what the 4th quarter is I have the Discover more.

with the holidays coming up you want to be careful, but you also want to use the card.

I would say for this quarter the people who you are responsible for getting gifts is what I would use your card for.

so if you have to get a gift at the gap forever21 , American Eagle this would be a time to use your Freedom card. but if your limit is 500.00. I would only charge roughly about 125.00 anything thing else for this month or December I would pay cash unless you have a lot of money in your checking account bottom line if you can afford to charge alot and pay back in full that's fine but if not I would then only use about 125.00 for the 2 months. there rotating category could be hotels and airlines. so if you have to travel for thanksgiving only use it if you have to if your going with your parents let them pay for you. if your not traveling for thanks giving , if this is 1 of the 5% cashback rotating categorys
