    Default Does opening a checking account affect credit score?

    Hi all,

    If I open a new checking account, does that require a hard credit pull?

    No just like if you were to open a debit card, these don't go on your credit report for opening up.

    Only if you bounce checks. BUT not for opening a new checking account.

    Call the lender and ask. Some do and some don't. For example: Penfed does a HP on EQ.
