Does How You Pay Utilities Affect Your Credit Score?
Hi all! I just had an interesting question from my 20 year old son. I was not sure of the answer, but wanted to find out.
Does how you pay your utilities affect your credit? I don't know because mine are always drafted, but he has a roommate with all the attendant roommate headaches. He is very mindful of his debts and credit, the roommate-not so much.
They are sometimes late, but not to the point of disconnection (although it's been threatened) or being in collections. How does that affect one's credit score and report? Anyone know?
Thanks!

Paying utilities can only affect your credit if you don't pay and it goes into collections. Paying on time is expected but no credit given.
