    Default Being an Authorized User

My parents made me an authorized user on one of their credit cards a long time ago. I recently pulled my own credit reports for the first time and although that card puts my length of credit history at 17 years (i'm only 25), there is a large balance on the card. The oldest card i have otherwise is 7 years old i got when i went to college (and the rest of my cards are within the last 2 years). If i was removed from the card I'm worried that although the large balance would go away, the hit to my credit history length would negate any gains and possibly make it worse.

Since I am only an authorized user do these even really effect my credit score?
    Any suggestions?

Being an a/b does report to credit. As far as I know you can call the creditor and ask to removed so it won't report anymore but the history will remain unless u dispute it. But then it will wipe out all history I believe.
