Thread: Can't open processing account, should we partner with someone?

We are an orphanage organization here in Cameroon and we receive a lot of donations all over the world. but most of the donors like to pay through credit card or paypal. our economy is not yet listed for paypal services. should we partner with another's credit card or paypal account to help us receive these donations for a reasonable cut?

Your Ministry of foreign affairs set what the requirements for foreign partners. You only option is to check with one of your national banks and set up something for your org. You will not find a legitimate business willing to collect payments for a company in Cameroon that claims to be NGO or not for profit.

I agree. You will need to work through a bank in your country to make sure this is done legally. If I were you I would be extremely suspicious of anyone that tries to help you by processing payments. There is a huge amount of fraud that occurs is those kinds of partnerships.

If you are serious, and if you cannot find a local bank to work with you then you could probably open a bank account in a neighboring country to process donations through. But if you take that route you'll want to make sure everything is done legally.
