    Default Am I considered a "first-time cardmember"?

I received an offer from AmEx Blue Everyday with a sign up promotion. In the fine print it states:

"Offer valid for first-time American Express Cardmembers only".

Now, we already have a Costco AmEx card, but we signed up for it under my DH's name. On my credit report it lists me as Authorized Account. Does anyone know if I would still qualify as a "first-time American Express Cardmember" in this case?

    Thanks!

Sounds like you are, since the account itself is not in your name.

Thank you, sdoonan, for your reply. After combing through Terms and Conditions again on the offer I found this statement:

"Additional Cardmembers do not have accounts with us but they can use your Account subject to the terms of the Cardmember Agreement."

The way I understand that statement is that I am not a cardmember or account holder by just having my name on card under my DH's account.

As what sdoonan said, it seems that you considered first-time card holder and you are not a card member. If you are interested with that card, you may apply and enjoy the benefits.
