Thread: Best way to check credit score for free?

What is the best way to check your credit score? It's new information to me that checking it actually hurts it. Also, any places that do it free?

You can get a free trial from one of the credit score websites, i have myfico but you can try googling free credit score and use the free trial. You can check your score all you want and it will never, ever, what so ever hurt your score. Another way you can get your score (this is new) is to apply for credit, under the new banking rules, card issuers must provide credit scores and factors used to determine your application by mail. I got mine after I was approved for American Express.

It does not hurt your credit score if you personally check it. It does reduce your score to have creditors check it (I.E. Applying for a new credit card).
