Default Two different equifax scores from different companies?

    Hi,

I have a question which is deeply troubling me for the past 2 days and after a lot of google search I have come off more confused and exhausted.

I have signed for equifax.com to get 3 bureau rating scores and also with freescore.com

There is a huge discrepancy between the 2 companies.

    Freescore.com reports my scores as:
    Equifax: 620
    Transunion: 660
    Experian: 570

    Equifax.com reports my scores as:
    Equifax: 710
    Transunion: 722
    Experian: 735

My question primarily is, why is there such a huge difference. Why does freescore.com report my equifax as 620 ....so low but equifax website shows a different number (710)?

Is it that Freescore.com uses its own calculation of credit score even though equifax provides its own number? Then how do I know where I stand?

I dont have credit card yet, how do I find where I stand as far as a true credit score goes with out putting an inquiry on my history?

I am looking to invest in a used car and get a car loan but I am afraid I will do more worse to my score with out being prepared.

Any help in matter would be greatly appreciated!

you will find that there are a host of scores you can get and to some extent they are all valid. the three credit bureaus for the last couple of years have been putting forth their score known as the vantage score .... this score was suppose to erase the discrepancy between bureaus when all info in the report is similar (this score is typically higher as it's range is higher than the standard FICO score range of 300-850). then there's a Plus score (with a range of 330-830), and Transrisk score which can be obtained from their respective bureaus -- Experian and TransUnion. all of these come directly from the bureaus but the score we seek, the FICO score, we as consumers can't get directly from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. however, FICO through myFico.com offers TransUnion and Equifax FICO scores. both scores you received are credit scores however probably are different types of scores. i typically go with the lower of the scores as my reference point....
