To me a credit line is a credit line. I've switched products numerous times with various banks. The only way to know is to call Amex and ask, the worst they can say is 'no'.

the reason is this. Nobody really uses the clear card that much, I stand online looking at other peoples credit cards and most use Chase, Bank of America , TD Bank, Citi and Discover, I have also seen people use the Gold, Green and Platinum at assorted stores.

At Costco while getting a gift card I've seen people use a Hilton, Optima Platinum and Gold Delta but I've never seen anybody anywhere use the clear. I'm sure it's a very nice card it's just not popular for shopping, or business traveling

while the Gold Delta is used generally for business and a very popular card, being the situation you're in American express wouldn't mind you having a clear card. But I think the Delta Gold would be hard for you to get.

    Cool

Spoke with American Express today and the short answer is yes you can "request" to have the clear card switch to Delta Reserve Card if the account is a minimum of 13 months and in good standing. The request is will require a credit review but not a hard pull required for new application. I am happy and the clear card will work for me with my travel.

I just wanted to update this thread that while gathering my old paper work to dispute the filing/discharge date of my bankruptcy, i noticed that American express was NOT listed as one of my creditors. I can only conclude that they were one of the few accounts i was struggled to pay or forced my EX to pay before filing and did not recollect. I wish i have a way of editing the posting/thread so i don't deceive readers but unfortunately I cannot. I guess it make sense now why i was approved

Good to hear about your clear card. something different from the Blue and premium cards. I'm glad you like using your clear for business.
