Hi everyone. Just looking for some advice before I start mailing letters to Equifax and Capital One.
Back in Dec 2008 I applied for a Capital One Credit Card and was approved. It never received it in the mail though. In January I called them and asked where it was, they told me it was mailed out, since I didn't get it I asked them just to cancel the account. They said ok and that was the end of it I thought.
Fast forward to this week. I get a copy of my Equifax. It's my first one since 2008 (I know..I know) and this Capital One credit card is listed on there. Account opened Dec 20008, no payment Jan, Feb, March, April. Last Activity in April 09, Account closed with balance paid in Dec 09.
It's the only really black spot on my credit score and I'm thinking its affecting it.
When I send this dispute letter off to Equifax and Capital One is there anything I should say specifically? It seems odd that I would be missing payments on a card I *never* received or activated.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section also
Cheers
