Default Costco vs. BJ's credit card comparison

what's the difference between the aqua american express/costco and Bj's Visa credit card?

1 thing I can tell you owner ship is different. Bj's owns 95% of that card while American express owns 50% and costco owns 50%.

let's take a look at the membership I spoke of 2 1/2 weeks ago. let's say somebody has a membership of 1989 on the aqua card and the company relocates where there's no costco within 300 miles. obviously you can call the number on the back of the credit card to cancel.

with the aqua card you can have 1 membership with your picture on the aqua card, or you can have the your picture on the red card. Bjs I bet would make you have your membership on the Bjs credit card.

let's say you have a Bj's visa, a bank visa and Mastercard and a Discover. Let's say you haven't used your Discover card in 3 months and you have used all of your other credit cards frequently. You go down to Bj's and purchase $70.00 worth of merchandise, you go to the register but your membership is on 1 card which is the Bj's visa, but you want to use your Discover what would the cashier say?

    Default Good question

That's a good question. In the past I was a Costco cardholder but never BJ's, because I have never lived in an area which had their stores.

If the Barclays BJs credit card operates like the one from Costco, than your picture and membership ID are printed on the back. In the example scenario you gave, I would think you would just be able to flip over your BJs Visa card to show your membership and then pay using a different credit card if you wanted to. That said, I Google Imaged "BJs credit card" and could find the picture of its back, so I am unsure if the membership info and photo is printed on the back.

Something to point out about the rewards though is that unlike Costco and Sam's Club, you can use any credit card at BJs - Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. The BJs Visa gives 2% at their stores and 1% elsewhere. If by remote chance BJs is not classified as a "warehouse store" category, then you would be better off with a credit card that gives 2% everywhere like the Fidelity card offers
Disclosure: I am a moderator/paid staff of this site, which does have advertising relationships with some credit cards that are discussed. Regardless, anything I say is my honest opinion.
