I saw already in a thread that BoA apparently makes the most money through CC charges ( Credit Card Issuers Ranked by Receivables ) but what is your favorite card and why ? Are the rewards always the most important thing or do you also pay attention to customer service not being send overseas ?

I've always been partial to American Express for two reasons; rewards and good customer service.
Up until recently I had been using the SimplyCash card. I had noticed the review on here last week for the Blue Cash card and have decided to go back to using that. I have had that card for four to five years but had stopped using it. I had never canceled the card however so I only had to pull it out of my sock drawer. I'll use this one for now due to the rewards only but I have yet to deal with customer service for that card. It may be possible since this is a consumer card they offer different quality customer service than their business credit cards. If they're customer service is equal to that of the SimplyCash I will have no complaints. However if it is inferior I may be tempted to switch back. |

I'm still using this one as my main card *REVIEW* American Express Simply Cash Business Card - CreditCardForum.com - Credit Card Forum & Message Board, Reviews & Offers
I may eventually us that one fresh mentioned but the thing I like about the Simply Cash is that they give statement credits each month for the cash back so I really feel like I'm actually getting true cashback. I hate cards that make it tedious to reward points or your have to do them in certain increments only. I also hate credit cards with bad customer service. I had a card with my bank in the past and the customer service was overseas yet the CSR tried to talk in a southern accent and said she had a southern name and it sounded ridiculous. Think of liquor store worker on the Simpsons trying to do this, because that's what it sounded like!

Even with only 2 answers American Express clearly sticks out of the crowd. By far my favorite as well. My Amex Charge Card is my favorite since I can't get in trouble with it because I have to pay it off by the end of the month. I just love their customer service they where always great to me. I had a question and always got an answer. Well I believe it pays off to treat their employees good. I once met a gentleman who used to work for Amex and he told me only one thing "Even my dog was insured". On top of all that they can speak english and I really like that.
Had a funny experience once with a Credit Card Cust Rep. Told the Cust Rep " Quite frankly....... " and he asked me why he had to be quiet. ![]() |

I just got off the phone for a call that was nearly and hour and a half to replace my HP printer. I had purchased an extended warranty and it took that long of talking with CSR's in India until I was able to finally get it replaced. I don't understand why companies think that outsourcing call centers benefit them. First of all the average call time ends up being 3 to 4 times longer so any cheaper wages they pay would certainly be offset. Second of all it only pisses us off as customers and makes us not want to do business with them again. Many credit card companies haven't seemed to realize this yet either.
Why would the CSR think "Quite frankly..." meant to be quiet. What country was he in? India or Pakistan probably. I've noticed some call centers are being outsourced to Asian countries too. I don't know which are worse because they're both awful.

HP is famous for horrendous customer service. When my printer died off last year I replaced it with a different make -- vote with your dollars
A better question would be what's your favorite credit card for each type of spending. A card may give the best cash back in one category but not another. Now you need to have at least 3 cards to get the most rewards. Last edited by bikermike : 10-02-2008 at 06:12 PM. |

Hollister credit card.
I don't think I would qualify for a Visa or Mastercard quite yet. |
