Default Pep Boys credit card application with bad credit?

Does anyone know if Pep Boys credit card is friendly for bad credit? From what I gather it is a credit card managed by GE money and if you already have a card from them its a shoo-in. I don't and before I submit my application and get a hard pull I want to get a better idea if it's worth trying.

(If it makes any difference I want to the Pep Boys credit card to take advantage of the tire sale going on at the location near me. My tires are badly worn and there will be no way I can afford new ones without financing)

There are some other threads about GE credit cards on here that you may want to search for. They might give you more information about your chances of approval.

I know no one with the Pep Boys credit card but keep in mind that automotive cards in general are notorious for giving credit limits only a bit above your purchase price from what I have heard anyway. If that were to happen to you, using such a high percentage of a credit line wouldn't be the best idea if you are trying to rebuild your credit.

My tires are going to cost me about $700 with installation and sales tax. What size of credit limit would you estimate that the Pep Boys credit card would give a person like me with bad credit?

Why don't you apply in-store? Usually they will give you enough limit to cover your purchase if you are already there. But again, I don't know what credit the look for...
