AU question

Postby lexrj » Fri Apr 04, 2014 1:56 am

I've added an AU on my BCP only to help out a friends credit, the card is going to stay with me and it won't be used at all.
I just got the card, my question is do I need to activate the card in order to keep reporting on the AU's CR?

Question: did Amex ask for his SSN?

I added my brother (did the something as you did or are going to do**feel like a hypocrite now**) on my CSP but they did not ask for a SSN- so I got the card and shredded it.. yup shredded a perfect metallic CSP!

If there was no social given then there is no reporting done to bureau's. You are just the person guaranteeing that card will be paid for pretty much.

and that is why my brother will not find out- I wonder if i can get a card with a "funny" name since they dont ask for personal info.

yes you do need to activate the card & actually use it. I added my fiancée on all my cards as au. she has terrible credit. I didn't know the extent of the positive this did for her until we made an offer on a house. her credit report showed all the card's usage ,pymt history & utilization etc. even the cards that did not ask for her ssn. amazing how it made her credit score jump leaps & bounds. highly recommend this technique if you want to help some1 you TRUST w/credit probs.
