ALOT of offers

Postby catsartcox » Mon Mar 31, 2014 5:36 pm

So this past week I was out of town, on vacation. So A lot of mail built up for me. Well today I went through it all and not only did I get my first "pre-screened" offer, I got 5. Two from citi, one from Chase, chevron gas and Home Depot. I don't know how to take it. How do they get a hold of my info does advertise their cards like that to me? Did one of my banks give it to them? The credit bureaus?

I guess this means I am doing ok in the world of credit.
Wells Fargo w/ Points - 6.2k
Discover More - 10k
Citi Forward - 3.7k
Citi Thank You Preferred - 18.5k
AMEX Blue - 16.4k

They soft pull your credit. If they offer a firm APR and show the "opt out" information, that means they must have pulled your credit (softed you). Still doesn't guarantee anything but what is guaranteed in life....it's a good thing to be wanted.

The banks buy this info from bureaus and then filter them out to see who might qualify. Once this is done, they send you the mail (or email). You can opt out of this. Just google for 'CC offer opt out'
