Possible to go all-or-nothing for Barclaycard Arival World? (i.e. no Platinum)

On the Barclaycard Arrival site, it says that if you are rejected for a World MasterCard they may give you a Platinum instead. Since the added travel features of the World card are a factor in my choice of card, I really would not want the Platinum. Has anybody found a way to apply such that if they're rejected for the World, they'll simply get *nothing* instead of the Platinum? The person I spoke to on their application line indicated no, and that I'd simply have to cancel the Platinum card if I got it.

That is correct. There is no work-around.
Citi Forward ($10.1K), AmEx Blue Cash Everyday ($30K), Chase Freedom ($12.4K), Discover it ($5.5K), Barclaycard Arrival ($12.5K), L.L. Bean Visa ($5K). FICO 806 (TU), 812 (EQ), 806 (EX).
