I know it's safer but I like the look of the card better without the chip

Do you experience some apprehension / hesitation from clerks and merchants due to the card not having a chip? Back in November 2013 I traveled north to Vancouver, BC on business. Many merchants looked at my lonely VentureOne Visa with great confusion. I had to tell every one of them to "slide the card."
Amex EveryDay, Amex BCE , Barclaycard Arrival+ WEMC, CSP Visa Signature, Discover it, Wells Fargo Propel 365 Amex

Nope. Can't say I get any apprehension from merchants.

I think it all depends where you shop. I'm mostly downtown and never had an issue.

The few times I go to the burbs, I have not encountered and issues.

Most of the time, the comments I get are the usual 'oh the black card'...

LOL.

I hope you don't do that when you have it in your wallet. You would embarass the rest of us cent holders ESPECIALLY if you carry your wallet in your front pocket.. ;)

Since I`m learning a bit of Japanese I have been watching some anime (it does help!) but its strange..

I remember a scene where some guy was all exited to see a girl change in the locker rooms and was all happy- I used his accent and enthusiasm while typing that comment.. --I will look for the clip- hopefully you'll watch it--
