guess i'll try again tomorrow

That's weird they would deny you they get more in swipe fees for a signature is my understanding and if you have the 5k limit or can move limit to get it, I don't see why it would be an issue.

I'd try again. With Chase I know it can make a big difference the analyst you speak with. Good luck!

Eyeing the Costco AmEx and a 5% cash back gas card (either Sallie Mae or PenFed). I have 5% on gas covered with Discover it and Chase Freedom most of the year but I want the other quarters covered too.
Citi Forward ($10.1K), AmEx Blue Cash Everyday ($30K), Chase Freedom ($12.4K), Discover it ($5.5K), Barclaycard Arrival ($12.5K), L.L. Bean Visa ($5K). FICO 806 (TU), 812 (EQ), 806 (EX).

You could see if you can buy gift cards from merchants that are targeted for the 5% category too. For instance you can buy gas card are Lowe's locations using freedom starting tomorrow

Yes, except that Costco has the cheapest gas near me. Sunoco is usually second cheapest. The only gas cards I've seen around here are BP or Shell (typically the most expensive at the pump).

Personal
Amex Everyday Preferred (To replace the PRG + BCP)
Chase Hyatt (Plat status + free nights)
Barclaycard Arrival World MC (2% flat rate)
Hawaiian Airlines WEMC by Barclaycard (just for WE status)

For business... (which is a 'when' and not an 'if')
Amex business gold (2x on cloud computing expenses... Amazon here I come!)
Chase Ink Plus (for all other business expenses)

Probably won't bite on the Arrival or the Hawaiian WEMC. Waiting on Amex to see if they will up the ante on their charge cards in terms of benefits before I drop everything and get either of the everyday preferred cards.

What are you guys looking at? :)

Nope. Got all the cards I want. I had a CSP but got rid of it before the annual fee kicked in. Was just not working out for me. Happier with SPG/Freedom combo.
DoubleCash '99:10k / Freedom '07:11k / CU '11:15k / Slate '14:13k / Premier '15:10k / InkPlus '15:5k

I am really hoping to see some valuable Amex offers coming out after the recent rule changes. Nothing yet.

I'm eyeing the Starwood American Express or the Chase Sapphire Preferred.
Discover It 1.5k
Capital One QuickSilver 1.45k
Marriott Rewards Premier 5k

Probably either the Amex Everyday or the Green Card in the future.

I've also considered converting my Delta Gold next year into a no annual fee Hilton HHonors card and my Forward card (when eligible) into either a Thank You Preferred or AAdvantage card (really which ever one has the best rewards for me which I need to look into more), which the customer service representative said would be a possible option when my account is old enough.

Ideally, I'd still really want a Chase Freedom in my wallet but I'll keep waiting until the time comes to where I might have a better chance at it.
Macy's TLs (21k), Lowes (17k), CSP (10k), Sam's Club (10k), Nordstrom (5k), AARP (4.2k), Freedom (3k), Discover (1.5k), Quicksilver (2k), BoA (3k), Barclaycard Arrival (2.5k), Amazon Store (6k), Paypal (4.9k), Sam's Club MC (3.6k), Walmart MC (1.2k)
