Reporting a Balance then paying it off after the closing date? (Amex)

Postby nismoZtuner » Tue Mar 25, 2014 12:44 pm

Okay, I have been a bit curious on this...so I have a balance of $2,400 on my PRG card(not yet reported) and I`m a bit curious if I should let that balance report next month and then pay it all off in full after it reports- will that help me out in anyway?

or should i just pay it off before the closing date?

just pay it off before statement. in the grander scheme, it doesn't matter unless you're setting up for another app run (or some other type of debt like a loan) within the next couple of billing cycles

Since it's a charge card anyway it's not really factored into revolving utilization with current models. Probably doesn't matter much either way.
