Need Advice On Delinquent credit Cards On My Report!!

Postby Sophisticated » Mon Mar 17, 2014 7:15 pm

Hi, I'm trying to rebuild my credit score within the last six months I have an old credit card that went to collection a few years ago, I recently received an updated credit report and Citi Bank seems to keeps reporting as open non payment every three months.

This account says closed charged off on my report. It will be on my credit for 7 years maybe 5, as it was 2011 when it first went delinquent. Should I even pay this? it already went to collections three years ago and it is going to stay on my account anyway for a number of years.

Any advice??? should I even bother paying this off will it even help my score??

Also I recently signed up for a secured visa of $500 to build my credit again any advice would be great.

Try a pay for delete letter.

Even if they don't go for the PFD, then paying it off could still help your credit. It's got several years left on your report, so paying it off will help mitigate the harm it does for the next few years.

Find a site with resources on rebuilding. This one really doesn't have much activity on that topic. I'd also suggest a PFD but you need to read up and do your own due diligence to ensure that you don't make matters worse for yourself.
