Advice on a new card

Postby Mike7300 » Sun Feb 16, 2014 11:35 pm

Hi all,

I am looking for a new card.
I have a credit score in the 700s. I never miss payments, so i don't care what the APR is. I average around 2-3K a month spending using credit cards. I take a train for work, so rarely fill up on gas. I do dine out a good amount and buy lots of concert tickets, so right now i like my Citi for Dining and presales on ticketmaster.

Currently I have a Chase Freedom Visa (so i have the 5% cash back on categories quarterly). I don't think its all that great for me though. I have a ton of points saved up on it but Im looking for a better card to replace it possibly

I also have the Citi Preferred card Mastercard ( 2% points on dining)

im considering upgrading maybe to the Citi card that does 3% back on dining with an annual fee.

And then the other card i looked at is Marriott. I travel somewhat but not a ton so im not sure its worth it...and also i use priceline a decent amount. But i do usually try to stay at Marriots when not using priceline and already have a good amount of points with them saved up.

Also, it would be nice to have an AMEX to get concert presales on that...but im not sure what AMEX would be best for me.

I do spend a lot on amazon for my shopping in general. I tend to buy from them than other stores....so maybe i should get that card? 3X on amazon purchases and 2X dining.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

So what's your biggest spend category? Are you looking for a particular type of rewards or just looking to maximize in general? Any other criteria for "better"?

EDIT: Thread is a dupe of
