Does anyone know (generally) whether buying a gift card with a credit card (that has a cash back program) triggers the credit card's cash advance provision? Is there anything to stop a person from buying a gift card to a store, getting the 5% cash back, and then reselling the giftcard to someone else for 97% of its value?
