I currently called chase about 15 minutes ago and there system is updating so the rep said she would call me back. When she finally does Im going to give her a good story for my credit increase and if all goes well I'll go up from 5k....

FICO is a really stupid forum and I think I've decided to stop posting there... tonite I was trying to give advice to someone who was asking about secured cards- someone with over 30 collections and a foreclosure who has been on that forum for eight years, the whole time "rebuilding". I told them they were pretty much going in circles and they should just stay away from all credit for a while to get their finances straightened out and get rid of bad spending habits and I was accused by their useless "community leader" myjourney of making personal attacks. So I'm making personal attacks for not blowing smoke up this idiot's arse and not telling them what secured card they "need"? This moron (creditdrama86) has been asking about secured cards to help rebuild credit for eight years! Obviously the rebuilding thing isn't working... you could put creditdrama86, my journey, and Bears and Turtles in the same room and collectively, they might be almost as intelligent as a brain damaged three toed sloth.

Lmao! Yea I stopped going on there. Same ol song and dance from hundreds if not thousands of posters. I've been off this forum for a while but now Im back! I just called Chase and surprisingly they gave me my increase from 5k to 9k, no questions asked. Now Im trying to figure out if they can increase my Freedom on the same hard pull or if they have to do a separate one. If they have to do a separate one thats bs.. lol

hahahaha Otter you always crack me up. Yeah that isn't working you know what they say about repeating the same thing over and over again that isn't working.

You horrible terrorist you, how dare you not encourage that person to go for every Commenity card they can get using the "Shopping cart trick".

The best thing that person can do at this point is learn to live on cash or a debit card. Once you can do that, you can handle credit. I agree with you 100%.

Some of them are pretty much morons over there and not agreeing with their view is an "attack". Then they get their buddy mods to ban you but honestly that's just as well at that place. Let them drone on about their garden as they app spree for 10 cards a month. I'm actually a bit surprised they haven't banned you yet - annoying a "Community Leader" is the same thing as being a terrorist on that forum.

Yeah there are some on FICO that are truly gems.

It's reasonably well established that the CSP has an income requirement (35k I believe) and it will be difficult to get the card without sufficient income. So some college student with no income wants to app for it. First of all - why? It has a 95 annual fee and is a travel card and I'm sure with no income this budding Donald Trump is going to be jetting off across the country to make use of the travel rewards, right? So they are encouraging him to app for it. Yeah it's no skin off theirs if he takes two hard pulls for nothing. And how are you going to make use of the card with no income anyway even if you could talk them into it?

Ok, there are two sorts of things that just irritate the hell out of me when people do it on the forum - one is ask "What are my chances of getting approved for card ABC?" I have no way in hell of guessing, nor does anyone else who isn't psychic. There are just way too many unknowns for anyone to make any kind of reasonable guess. If you want it - app for it. It's not that complicated is it? It's not the final your Calculus III professor came up with to blow your mind and show you how smart he is. The second thing is when they are comparing cards and post repeated questions wanting you their unpaid personal credit slave to do all the research and legwork for them. I don't mind answering questions but I expect people to actually do a bit of research themselves. This isn't your company where you are a highly overpaid underworked executive demanding your minions do everything for you this is the internet and we don't get paid by you or work for you and hence any help we give you is out of the goodness of our hearts wanting to help someone else. Learn to help yourself for a change please.
End of rant!

If he's dumb enough to apply for it like that, I'd say he deserves to waste the inquiries. I just can't believe they encourage people to do that.

Another one that's great is when someone with recent collections, like say from 2 years ago, posts "I burned Bank XYZ 2 years ago and now I want one of their cards again what are my chances of getting a card with Bank XYZ today?" Um, dude, the same as a snowball in hell I would guess. You burned them 2 freaking years ago and think they are just going to let you back in already? Good luck with that. Chase, Citi, Amex, Discover, BofA, etc are simply NOT going to open the doors wide for you two years after you screw them, I don't care how wonderful you think you are. Cap One MIGHT or might not, but any of the big prime guys are just not going to do that. Use a little common sense here.

I have noticed that at LEAST half of myjourney's posts are "congrats". Another third is preaching what he doesn't practice in a smug know it all way. I can't think of a single intelligent post he's made off the top of my head.

And a lot of those "Congrats" are actually "CongArts".
