When I got my Forward, it wasn't clear I was getting 5 points per $1. I read on a few sites that Citi wasn't always honoring the points. So I called a rep and he sent me an official letter explicitly stating that I'm getting 4 bonus points for transactions in the correct categories.
But you're right. The points suck when converted to cashback.
Yeah, sounds like we're both on the grandfathered 5/3/1 rewards program! I have over 70K TYP on my Forward. I'm hoarding for a rainy day and because their value isn't very high
I'm pretty good about reaching my spending limits buying things I normally would buy and not turning it into a shopping spree.
So far, my sign-up bonuses have only required $500 - $1000 in 3 months -- cake.
I'm familiar with million miles. That guy really pushes the boundaries of what lenders would accept as plausible behavior, all for our benefit.
