Dude, this sounds like Cap One, who are always delighted to close your 500 limit card and spare the company that massive potential liability (I'm not kidding they always seemed thrilled to close mine, all I had to do was say I was closing and it was DONE in like 10 seconds flat, no attempts to retain you and they didn't even care why).
If you are that concerned about risk, maybe you're in the wrong business. It's not possible to make money without risk in the credit card world, or for that matter lending period. If I was that risk averse, I'd get out, because I see no point in letting business walk out the door if the guy has a good income and sterling credit. Granted bad things can happen to anyone but using that rationale, you can't lend to anyone for fear they are going to stiff you.
