Did you just apply online a few months apart? What's the strategy? I wouldn't mind opening select accounts for a signing bonus and closing one of them later on. My credit score can afford a low AAoA.

I'd be careful with that. If they catch on that you are doing it just to get signing bonuses they might not care for that. Granted I'm sure not many get action taken against them, but it is a risk.

There are rules for each of them. Better to check flyertalk.com.

I just re-applied for Chase Freedom but there was no instant approval. It said my application would need further consideration, which meant it would be declined. I had Chase Freedom the first time on Mar 12, when there was only 6-months 0% and maybe $50-100 sign-up bonus. A week later I found out at Chase branch, there was sign up bonus for Chase Freedom up to $150 and 12-months 0%. I tried to talk to them to change my term, but they cited the CARD Act. Now I want the $200 and 5% for gas in 2014 (twice!!!).

Now I'm waiting for their decision, but I will try to explain and recon if they decline me. Any thought you guys?

I'd call them today. It might not be a decline by the way. But I'd call their analysts number not the front line CSRs and do the recon.

I got declined on Chase Freedom. I called and they said they won't give the same card for anyone at any time. They said my current Chase Freedom was the one I applied for and I should look at another Chase Freedom
Products. I'm confused here?! Which is the another Chase Freedom card??? They told me look at the website??! What??

Good thing is that they didn't pull my credit report since it automatically declined because the system "recognized" me.

I also applied for Discover It last night, after I applied for Chase Freedom. It also said further consideration needs to be made. I called them this morning and she was so helpful and considerate. She asked if I had another Discover, actually I had the More card. She asked if I wanted to convert it, and I said no. I wanted the sign up bonus and 5%. She understood but she couldn't find my application. She told me to reapply online, and promised that the system wouldn't pull another time. Then call back for recon. I did and it approved. Yay, $150 is on the way to my pocket and FICO score every month.

Not an error... it happened to me, too. Yes, you can have two of the same credit cards.
Oct '16
TU: 783, Equifax: 772
Ch 7 BK in '06, finally dropped off in '16
2 mortgages
paid off car
0 CC debt (Disc, Citi, and WF Amex)
furniture debt: $1800
Closed unused CCs, was dinged a few pts, but recovered
I filed for BK in '06 and was in debt over $500K. Never again! You can do it too! :lift:
