Looking at your signature you've been quiet since June. I guess you are in the garden too :D I'm wondering if you could squeak in a Delta Gold, and then PC to a BCE.

Yeah, I have been pretty quiet as I'm trying to avoid apping for cards I really don't need or want. I guess you can say that, I've been keeping my inquiries to a minimum for now as I might go for a car after I app one of these days and don't want them to deny me...that and I hope they pull EQ since there isn't that many inquiries on there.

The economy is very bad I know I'm preaching to the choir here but it's not your fault. So here's to you finding a job you find rewarding in the coming year!

Thank you for the kind words. Luckily, I am working part-time. I am hoping it turns into full-time but I don't want to start those conversations until I've had my fill of a lower stress lifestyle.

Regarding credit: do the banks tend to roll out major sign up bonuses at certain points in the year? It might be helpful for those of us that are credit card nerds to track when bonuses are announced and see if there are any trends.
Citi Forward ($10.1K), AmEx Blue Cash Everyday ($30K), Chase Freedom ($12.4K), Discover it ($5.5K), Barclaycard Arrival ($12.5K), L.L. Bean Visa ($5K). FICO 806 (TU), 812 (EQ), 806 (EX).

My credit goals for 2014 are to pay off my Personal loan, current balance of $5000AUD with payments of $1140AUD per month won't take long until that is gone.

Next goal after that is to start saving for a house. I only have one card at the moment, my AMEX Green Charge Card which is working quite nicely for me.

Land I want in the area roughly sells for $200,000AUD for 3 acres (uncleared) and then to get the house build another $240,000AUD (want a big house). Getting a payrise in March is going to be making things easier.

I am currently on vacation right now and I am working on getting my monthly expenses and loan under control with the focus on the house in another 24 months or so.

Guess I'm kinda in the "garden" too. I saw the other day that next month I will have only one inquiry on every bureau in the last 6 months and two of those are from Chase denying me a CLI (the last one is for the Duck card). So I haven't done much lately either. Even the 6 cards I have is starting to seem like a PITA to deal with, I could see going to 5 or maybe 4 next year. Don't see myself adding anything new but who knows.

You know I'm not really sure about that I'm sure some do but I'm not sure when or how they go about that.

One goal that I am going to do my very best to meet is - to start treating this whole thing as what it is, which is much less than the meaning of life.

I could have great luck and do everything perfect in taking care of my credit and it could still be trashed to hell by someone stealing my identity or some dirtbag collection agency violating the law. The game is tedious to play as it is, and gets more so the more cards you accumulate. Worrying about keeping the top possible score at all times, really just is not worth the effort as long as your credit is good anyway, and you aren't going for a mortgage. I truly need to take that to heart and just live and not worry about this stuff so much. It's truly not worth that much time and effort and energy.

So that's my main goal, let's see if I meet it.

2013 has been a great year for me:
* Cleaned off items that weren't mine sitting on my reports
* Approved for several credit cards I was interested in (BCP, CSP, Freedom)
* Received decent credit lines and even CLI's!
* Make my money work harder for me (i.e. rewards on purchases I already make)
* 0% new car loan

My financial goals for 2014 include
* Further CLI's on my existing cards (goal is 25k on the above and 10k on Discover)
* Save more money
* Investing
* Obtain Equity Line for my house
* Maybe purchase a house that I can rent for profit.
