I'm really shocked, I thought US Bank would be one to offer great customer service and go above and beyond for the customer, not try and rip them off. OP, have you tried contacting US Bank through their Twitter: https://twitter.com/askusbank
I've found that the social media teams for various companies are typically able to provide better customer service.
But definitely press this issue with them, it definitely sounds like they were in the wrong.
+1000 Social media requests get prompt and robust customer service. Tweet us bank or ask us bank and accuse them of the bait and switch. You'll get a message asking for your info so they can all you.
