Credit Card For Christmas Shopping?

Postby pac4toon » Mon Dec 02, 2013 4:32 pm

Hello. Just wondering what credit card will you be using for your Christmas shopping? I am still not sure if I will be using AmEx BCE or BoH Hawaiian Airlines Visa.
In my wallet:
CHASE Freedom Unlimited / AMEX Hilton Honors

In my sock drawer:
CHASE Freedom / AMEX Blue Cash Everyday

It all depends.

Chase Freedom and Citi Dividend are giving 5% cashback at Perhaps Discover IT, too?

Citi Dividend is also giving 5% back on Ebay and Bestbuy. Hard to knock that card at the moment.

Most (all?) Citi cards have price rewind, allowing you to pull the trigger on an item and get the difference in price should it drop within 30 days. AMEX has the same feature. In both cases, I believe, the max is $250/item up and $1000 overall per year.

I just spent $500 to get $100 back w CitiDividend and must now do the same for AMEX BCE, so that's the card I'll be using. As another poster mentioned, the rewards for AMEX have been great so far (e.g. spend $75 at Amazon and get $25 back, which might be better than 5% back depending on how much you shop).
Merrick Bank (Hooters) 4100
Cap One Quicksilver 4800
Discover it 2500
Citi Forward 8000
Chase Freedom 1000
AMEX Blue Cash Everyday 5500
Citi Dividend 7000
Cap One Visa Platinum 750 (CLOSED)

The Discover IT has 5% back on everything purchased online. It also has Price Protection among others. It lets you get up to $500 back on a item that the priced has dropped on within 90 days. Also has return guarantee that lets you return any item no matter the store policy up to $500. That is also for 90 days. Plus now you get your FICO score every month.

Chase Freedom - $5,700
Costco Citi - $13,000
Sallie Mae - $4,000
Chase Sapphire Preferred - $6,000
Chase Sapphire Reserve - $19,500
Citi Double Cash - $6,500
Amex BCE - $13,000
