Amazon.com Cyber Monday Promotions

Postby cazrenbolb » Mon Dec 02, 2013 1:18 am

I'm shopping on Amazon.com right now for Cyber Monday. I've signed up for two different credit cards and now have a combined giftcard total of $40 for signing up. If I use the $40 and then cancel the cards, I technically got $40 for free right? Where's the flaw in what I'm thinking here, it's too good to be true....

I'm not sure which deals you received, but most card require a certain amount to be purchased on each credit card before the gift card is given (or some say they'll charge you the amount later onto the card if you don't make the future purchase requirements.) The other thing is your credit score was hit, but that may or may not matter to you. It makes more of an eyebrow raiser to those that review your score to open and immediately cancel credit cards or any line of credit - so really, since you already have the cards do as many suggest and "sock drawer" them. Use for occasional purchases to keep them active, but don't close them, then you've gotten your rewards and added to your available credit.

I know all about too good to be true, believe me. You see there was this really hot blonde....and then the damn alarm clock rang. I felt like throwing it against the wall.
