Need some help please

Postby WaylonB » Mon Nov 18, 2013 3:48 am

Hey guys, i need some help with where to start. I went to to see what i need to clear up... I have one "potentially negative item" on my report that i want to pay, but i do not know how. I owe 1242$ to capital one from years ago. Right when i was old enough to get a credit card i went and built up that debt. I ignored all phone calls from collectors so it is now a civil claim judgement. Filed in 2010. I do not know who to contact or how to pay this. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

On your credit report it should list who the current collection agency is. You can always Google their name and get their contact info. If you do contact the collection agency I always tell people call from a number other than your cell if possible. No need for them to have that info.

However, that said, I would just contact Cap One direct. See if they still have the account and if they will take payment. If they will. great because they may prove nicer to deal with than a collection agency.

If they have sold it, you will need to call the collection agency listed on your report.

Agree with Obi-dan.

Since they got a judgement were you actually served? In other words did they contact you to let you know of a court date you should attend in regards to this?
