The EX FAKO model seems to like larger limit cards

Postby MemberSince99 » Fri Nov 15, 2013 6:43 am

I checked with CreditSecure and the Duck card has started reporting on EX and EQ (not yet TU).

I noticed that EX jumped by 20 points as a result. That was the only change so that had to be the reason.

When I got the Discover card with a 2k limit all the FAKOs fell.

So I know that FAKOs don't really matter, but the models seem to like higher limit cards all other things being equal from what I've seen. I had noticed too when I closed the Fidelity card with a 10k limit and the FNBO card with a 13.6k limit, the scores fell as well, leading me to conclude that the limit it seems to "like" is 10k. This is just based on what I've seen.

I've noticed with my CreditSecure "ExperianPlus" score factors it says this:

Your average credit card limit is less than $2,000.
Lenders understand that it is much easier to manage a small amount of credit vs. a large amount of credit. Your relatively low credit limits signal to lenders that you have not had experience managing large amounts of credit, which makes them worried about extending more credit to you.

My Duck Card has yet to report, so once it does (and I get an auto increase from PayPal/GE) I guess I'll be over $2000 avg limit per card.

One thing I've noticed (at least in my case) is that the CreditSecure FAKOS seem to be a lot more accurate at predicting FICO than anywhere else (CK, Credit Sesame, etc).
