What is a good one that grows with you? I got the Capital One Secured for $39 (29 fee?) two months ago. Is it too late to switch? What should I get that will grow with me?

Just wanted to update everyone, thank you so much for chiming in (esp. Membersince99, the forum should have a rep/kudos feature haha).

I went in to get the freedom, and was approved in no time. I know this may not be the biggest thing since slice bread, but it is for me. Its the 1st step towards building and better goals. I just wanted to thank everyone for all the advice.

Keep in mind that you can manage reported utilization by paying before the statement closes.

Congratulations CCGuy! Way to go. Now that you got a nice prime card, keep in mind Chase likes heavy use and PIF. I recommend you adopt that approach and give it 6 months to a year and you may find yourself with an auto CLI if they like you.

Be sure to find out if you're not sure if you are eligible for any sign up bonus and make sure you get that if you can do so without going into debt. For example you might get 100 dollars after you spend 500 or 1000 in 3 months. That's free money as long as you don't have to overspend to do it.

Enjoy your Freedom and welcome to Primeville!
