Concierge service is flipping awesome.

Postby catsartcox » Mon Sep 23, 2013 10:26 pm

I guess I am not used to nice things, but damn. Having this service makes me feel so powerful.

I have my spring break trip planed. We are working on my PAX trip. And they got me a pre order for a PS4. The prices they are finding for flights and tickets are much cheaper then what I can find on any site. I am impressed.

Since I am using Citi's service, I guess it is VIPdesk. I have been googling it, and I found that there is this company called Circles. I guess this is the company the AMEX partners with for their platinum and black. From what I gather they can do things in person. Is this true?

I guess my service will organize anything the can do over the internet or phone. But I am reading that you can have them wait at your house for the cable man, or have them by your food and make a trip to the bank.

FastSRT8, I know you have a black. Does AMEX(Circles) really offer this level of service This seems like the stuff that a paid personnel one would do. Not a business.

Not sure about having them wait at my house for the cable guy. Haven't tried that and likely won't as I wouldn't want strangers lingering in my home.

Amex concierge has however done all things for me well.... real well. I really don't want to publish what I have asked them to do for personal and private reasons but I can say there is nothing I can dream of that they won't or can't do (within legal limits obviously).

As glamorous as this seems, keep in mind you can probably do the same yourself as well.

I always use American Express concierge but just yesterday I asked them for something and they told my it may be three days until response, I went ahead and still asked for the request. I then called Visa Signature concierge and asked them to do the same thing. Heard back with results in about an hour, still haven't heard from AMEX. This is only the second time I've used Visa Signature, the previous times also asked AMEX and Visa did return results faster. I may be looking at calling Visa more than AMEX now. However, I do like that you can email AMEX requests.

I've had hit and misses with both Amex and Visa Signature's. The big plus I give to Amex is their Platinum Dining® Program. What they do is contract with a few nice restaurants in every major city which reserve seats for Plat/Cent members. So when a restaurant is fully booked, I've been able to get in here and there when I call Amex Concierge, in which Visa can't do.

Technically, this has nothing to do with Concierge really, but it's nice Platinum/Cent has this Platinum/Cent Dining Program.
