Citi Bank APR Change

Postby girly82 » Wed Sep 16, 2009 5:31 pm

I am super pissed when I saw my APR jump from 15% to 30%. Big change..I have always paid my min payment ontime and have excellent credit. This is majorly hurt me...I can reject it go back to the normal apr and it will close my account..which will hurt my credit score because of my Debit to Income..I am screwed either way...Anybody in this boat?

Citi is notorious for doing this lately. How big is your balance? Your best bet is to do a 0% balance transfer offer if you can get one. As you mentioned you can close the card and continue paying off at the 15% rate, but when you do so they adjust the credit limit to that of your balance which would report as 100% credit utilization.
