For me, I have supposedly thought it has been the BCE/BCP or the SPG. I'm not sure which Chase cards would be difficult to get, but if anything I would have to say the CSP is a little bit harder to get. I've heard the Iberia Bank and Simmons first CU cards are harder to get because of the strict underwriting they have. They do have pretty low APR's OTOH.
Bank Of America: BankAmeriCard Cash Rewards-4.2k
Citi: Forward-4.5k American Airlines Advantage Platinum Select World Elite MasterCard 9/6/15-4K
Discover: More-7k
Amex BCE.2k- Amex SPG-5k
Chase: Freedom-5kSouthwest Rapid Rewards Plus- 3.6k
Capital one: Venture one-10,000, Visa Signature.

Amex BCP 21K
Amex SPG 5K
Barclaycard Arrival Plus WEMC 5K
Chase Sapphire Preferred 23.5K
Credit Union 10K
Discover IT 7.75K

No idea. I've been approved for everything I've applied for in 2013 (which includes some card mentioned above).

Centurion and Palladium are hard to get because you can't apply for them. Penfed cards, along with a few other credit union cards, are hard to get because it's a pain in the A to have to fax your proof of income, address, and whatever else proof you need. Compared to those, there really is no credit card that is easy to apply but hard to get approval for.

Main Card: Amex Platinum
For gas: Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards
For travel & dining: Chase Sapphire Preferred

I would agree that IberiaBank and Simmons First (National Bank, not CU) would be amongst those that can be difficult to get. Their underwriting is more exact and demanding. I have an IberiaBank Select Visa, it was not overly difficult to get, but I had to talk to real people rather than a computer to get approved! They actually approved me without the customary documentation request, and I did get their best terms. Very low APR (both continuing and for BT).
Retired, and in the process of retiring cards!
