Need advice from here

Postby Sta5is » Wed Aug 07, 2013 8:18 pm

Hi sorry if this is a double post. My first one never showed up. I recently tried refinancing my car load last month with my bank. I got denied because of lack of credit history. Ive had the car loan since feb 2012 ($15k). They said my credit score was 753. Ive had a CapitalOne secure card since 10/11 with a 200 limit and ive had a khols charge card with 800$ limit for a few months now. Should i apply for another card (which one) or should i just keep paying off my loan for now?

thank you,
Sta5is

Lack of credit history? Sounds to me like your bank is just coming up with a reason to keep charging you a high rate.

Do yourself a favor - find a new bank. You have a great score and plenty of history I see (almost 2 years with your Cap One) and I'm sure there are plenty of banks out there who want your business and will deal fairly with you to get it - this bank is shafting you.

Well my loan is through wells fargo but I tried td bank since they're the bank I use. Should I go to wells fargo and try to negotiate my interest rate? Its at 13.9% which I know is high. I needed a car badly with no credit that my now ex co signed for.

Also, Should I try for a better creditcard? Or just worry about my loan?

Thanks again.

I'd say keeping paying the loan and get a Chase Freedom. Make sure only one of your cards is reporting a balance when you apply for it, though.
Blue Cash Preferred ($24K), Costco TrueEarnings ($8K), Better Balance Rewards ($6K), CashForward ($15K), Sallie Mae Rewards ($10K), Quicksilver ($17K), AARP Rewards ($15K), Freedom ($15K), Double Cash ($16.5K), It ($28.5K), Fidelity Investment Rewards ($18K), Cash+ ($11K)
