Today's AoR

Postby djrez4 » Tue Aug 06, 2013 9:07 pm

Amex SPG Business - approved $3k - 30k SPG points (10k + 20k after spending $5k over 6 months)
Citi AAdvantage - approved $10k - 50k AA miles ($3k over 3 months)
Barclaycard US Airways - approved 9.5k - 35k US miles (first use)
Chase UA Explorer Business - Denied - too many apps!

There will be another application for a second Citi AA card next week, but that's it.
Future plans -
Upgrade the BRG to Business Platinum (25k MR points, $400 airline credits) and downgrade the MB Platinum to PRG right before the MB Platinum fee is due again, downgrade the Ink Bold to an Ink Classic before the Bold fee is due.

Sadly, I'm out of cards to apply for at this point. On the bright side, I'll have 158k MR points, 65k SPG points, and once the US/AA merger is complete, 180k AA miles. That should keep us going for a couple of years. At that point, maybe Chase will love me again.

Congratulations that's a nice haul. I'm sure Chase will come around, in time. You could recon the UA by the way - I've recon'd three times before to get a Freedom. Depends on how much you want it, and there is the risk they will pull again, but you did take a pull for it.

It was a business card app and I've gone through that process before after the Ink Plus was denied. We talked about reallocating limits as well, but they couldn't do it. The card isn't going to be approved and that's ok.

I've lost interest in tracking inquiries at this point. They obviously don't make that much difference unless you're borderline. Chase was concerned about the number of accounts open, not inquiries.

I'll get the second Citi card next week, maybe close a few cards. That'll be about it until I need more points again.

Don't tell that to the crowd on FICO, it will ruin the meaning of the meaning of their lives. (Inquiries not meaning that much). We know that, but they don't. If the worst reason a lender can give you for a decline is inquiries, you're doing pretty well.

Just out of curiousity does Discover EVER give you any auto CLIs? You don't really fit their ideal profile so I'm guessing no?

They started me at $16k. I don't think I'll be seeing anything from them, ever.

Not sure how this is related to my thread. There are plenty of posts about applying for the Freedom card.

On a different note, the financial gods answered me today with this:

http://about.americanexpress.com/news/pr/2013/wells-fargo-amex-partnership.aspx

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, August 7, 2013 --
Two companies that share the same founders and a rich history, Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) and American Express (NYSE: AXP), announced today a new chapter of partnership that will see Wells Fargo issuing new credit cards accepted on the American Express network.

Wells Fargo will make the cards available in the marketplace nationwide by mid-2014. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"We are delivering on our strategy to expand our credit card business," said John Stumpf, Chairman and CEO of Wells Fargo. "Our goal is to offer Wells Fargo customers a suite of cards that help them meet their financial goals. We're proud to have American Express as a partner in this effort -- a great company with a proven brand for customer service."

Wells Fargo may finally have some interesting offerings, IF (big if) they can find some decent airline/hotel partners.

I don't see how it wasn't related to your thread as you went on to talk about Chase as well as other things. I zoomed in on the below where you shared WHY they declined you:

I've lost interest in tracking inquiries at this point. They obviously don't make that much difference unless you're borderline. Chase was concerned about the number of accounts open, not inquiries.

Anyways, my question was out of left field, but I will take your...err..."suggestion" and search for answers.
