Will this be an issue?

Postby Snowman » Mon Aug 05, 2013 7:52 pm

I have a question you guys. On my Freedom and SW cards I had a bunch of stuff for school that I had to purchase and because of that I've got some pretty high balance (currently 543 on my Freedom and 970 on my SW). However, I will be paying the SW about 805$ this month and my freedom 332 this month, leaving me balances with 165 and 211. My question with 2 balances reporting, will this hurt my score in any way. I will be PIF ASAP, but I took on quite a few classes this semester+books+ other fees ate up quite a bit of my CL and therefore I have no choice to leave a balance. Will this affect me negatively, and once I pay it off, will my scores rebound again. I have no plans to app again until December so I should be okay, but I've never had 2 balances report before.

Thank you,

Snowman.

Don't sweat it. I know that leting 3 small balances report DOES lower your TU FICO as purchased from MyFICO. 2 I'm not sure about but it may. I did not see any impact I noticed on EQ or EX. So don't sweat this one.

Sounds good member. I just don't want my score to be lowered for having 2 balances, but if it's not much of an impact, then I'm fine with it reporting. As I said, I'll be PIF ASAP, so it shouldn't be to bad. Would a creditor like Amex or Citi be worried seeing 2 balances being reported?

Unlikely. Amex surely saw that I had a balance report on more than 1 card, no AA yet. Likewise Citi appears to like balances within reason, which yours are, I don't think either will be an issue with what you've got. You are worrying too much I think :)

Ahh, I thought so. I rarely, if ever, leave a balance on any of my cards. But this past month had an unusual amount of spending so that's why the balances were left. But sounds good to me, thanks member :)
