Screwed by Dell Financial Services

Postby beachbuckeye » Wed Sep 02, 2009 2:10 pm

Bought a computer from Dell. Financed it thru Dell Financial Services. The computer is junk and I cannot get Dell to honor their warranty. I need to know if the Dell Financial Services credit account is secured or unsecured? If it is secured, I will send the thing back and make them sign for it.

Whether it's secured or unsecured it doesn't mean you can just return it. Because in that case a lot of people would be returning their expensive cars when they lost a job - those are secured loans.

I think your best bet would be to look into your state's lemon law to see if there's an protection since the product keeps falling apart. If all else fails take Dell to small claims court and sue for 3x the price you paid for it.

Have you called Dell???

I have received nothing but awesome service from Dell for at least 7 years. I've had 4 Dell laptops (plus 3 more at work) and have always gotten fantastic service when there was a problem. My most recent call was less than a month ago. Yes, sometimes things break but Dell has always been extremely good at fixing the problem quickly (next day) without question.

There must be something more to this story. Did you perhaps stop paying your bill? Did you try to get service after your computer was out of warranty? Did you do something to break it or install malicious software on it?

By the way, I have no relationship to Dell other than as a satisfied customer.

In my experience Dell has always been one of teh best companies to work with in any category. They go out of their way to help customers.
