A 10 billion dollar class action settlement gives Americans up to 9 months of free credit reporting from Transunion. You qualify if you've had a car loan, credit card, mortgage, student loan, or anything else between 1987 and now - that's pretty much everyone.
irtually all Americans. The "class" in the class-action lawsuit includes anyone who had an automobile loan, bank credit card, store credit card, finance company loan, mortgage or student loan in the U.S. between Jan. 1, 1987, and May 28, 2008. I would have to say that qualifies pretty much everyone
Unfortunately it's not available quite yet. The final approval from the court for this settlement isn't expected until September.
