Which credit score bureau do you have?

Postby nismoZtuner » Sat Jul 27, 2013 1:44 pm

So i was looking around and noticed that Transunion is using VantageScore not the actual FICO Score..

My VantageScore with TU is 771...I want to know my true FICO score!

Is there a comapany that actually has only FICO scoring and not vantage?
Do companies really use VatageScore compared to FICO?
Should i cancel my Transunion subscription and change to "MyFico"?

The only way you can get a "FICO" score is through the myfico site, OR if a lender who pulls it shares it with you.

Certain other lenders such as the Walmart card give you a FICO score monthly as well. But basically if you want your true fico score they are the way to get it.

Not sure what you mean. Generally the bureaus don't sell true FICO scores to us mere mortals, we get what's known as FAKOs even from the bureaus themselves.

It was from a forum on a different site.

"Experian only uses Vantage, Equifax only uses FICO and Transunion uses both depending of which type of credit report is requested of which there are 3. The standard that people get from the Internet, the auto enhanced which only car dealers and lenders see and the factual which only mortgage people see. The last two are not available to the general public."

That site is wrong. www.myfico.com allows you to get all three FICO scores. You just have to pay for them.

Do you think the Amex credit score service is worth it?
In case youve tried it before...

I think so but hey I'm a credit fanatic/junkie.

I get the "unlimited" version of it, it's 25 bucks a month but I can pull it every day (and usually do). I know, how often does your credit actually change? Not that often, admittedly, even mine, but I just like to be able to keep an eye on things that way.

Probably the 15 dollar a month with 2 or 3 pulls a month is good enough for most people. But yes I do think it's worth it. If you have any specific questions about it, please ask and I'll answer the best I can for you.
