Does opening a bank account require a credit check?

Postby Vandalized2 » Sun Jul 21, 2013 4:16 pm

Does applying for a new checking or savings account cause a credit pull? Because I am thinking about opening up a new savings account with AMEX HIGH YIELD ACCOUNT and if they pull my credit I obviously would not. Because, I am going to be applying for a car loan soon and do not want to chance too many inquiries.

Thanks for the help ahead of time.

Banks will usually perform a soft pull when a consumer opens a new deposit account; when I opened an AMEX High Yield Account, that is what occurred.
