New and Kind of Lost

Postby Jordan249 » Wed Jul 17, 2013 12:19 pm

Well, I recently accepted a jobs in Dallas, TX. As a result, I will be flying more often. I will be flying mainly to/from DWF, PHX, BWI, LAS, and PHL. I will be flying a variety of airlines (mainly US/American/United) so trying to decide which card is a bit difficult because there seems to be so much information and trying to find which will work best. I have looked at the Plat and various airline cards, but have yet to decide. I will be flying 3-6 times a year. Opinions?

Plat is a "perks" card more than anything. If you like hanging out in airport lounges (some do) then the Plat might be for you. If not you might consider something else like CSP. Try to keep it generic since you won't use the same airline all the time. BofA offers a travel rewards card, US Bank does too, even Discover has a couple of them, and there is CSP. To make the most of Plat you need to look at the benefits and decide if it's for you, I'd just avoid the airline specifc cards in your case is all based on what you said.

I'd also suggest the CSP since OP mentions multiple airlines but certainly take a look at other travel cards that aren't affiliated with a specific airline as well.
