Youre going to have to ask your parents if you were a mistake. I'm not sure a creditcard forum will have that answer
Credit Cards
American Express: Fidelity Rewards (2% cash back) 9.5k
Zync NPSL
Discover: Discover More (5% rotating categories) 12k
Mastercard: Chase Freedom (5% rotating categories) 4.6k
Visa: Citi Forward (5x pts on restaurants) 15.7k
Citi Dividend (5% rotating categories) 5.6
Capital One Journey (1.25% cash back) 1.25k
BofA AAA (5% on gas) 2.5k
PenFed Platinum Rewards (5% on gas 3% groceries) 7.5k

Future Cards
US Bank Cash +
Chase Ink

Yeah we would have no way to know that. In my case my parents were too lazy to go to the drug store. I like to say, being lazy usually causes more trouble than it saves.....

Hahaha :D

I will avoid commenting on the obvious. I'll say make sure you pay that card off in the first 6 months (5 to be safe) or you'll regret it. I thought the Best Buy store card was a great idea, but now I'm paying 25% interest on $4k in purchases. Don't be me. Pay off that card while you can!
Scores on the mend...
FICO: 650 (Discover/TU, 6/23/2016)
Cards I Use Citi Double Cash, Chase Amazon, Capital One QuickSilver
Sock Drawer Discover IT, Citi Diamond Preferred, AE Visa, QuickSilver One, Walmart CC, CareCredit, CreditOne (keeping for history for now)
Short Goal Reach 680

Ineffective ban?

Or is this a different tanyasf?

Regardless - Yes. Big mistake. Take that however you want.

I assumed (and you know what that makes me) that it had to be the result of a ban (and that's a hell of an accomplishment here by the way, you have to go way above and beyond to earn it) and coming back with a 1 at the end, but that's just what I assumed and perhaps you did as well.

Hang in there by the way, 4k isn't that much, pay it down and watch your scores climb and your limits grow. (And you save money how's that for a deal?)

I didn't realize this was a post from someone who had the ban-hammer dropped. Is it wrong I now care slightly less?

$4k used to be a lot for me to pay off, but I was also a full time student without a normal job. Photography is an accountant or financial planner's nightmare. Now I have around $9k total debt, but I'm paying everything I can toward it. I see it slowly creep down and it certainly feels good.

On a slightly related note, I have one semester left of college and then I give it another 6-12 months before I'm in a normal career. We'll be in the same field, I think, Member.

No not wrong at all. It's very hard to get banned here it's not exactly the FICO board where it's easy to do. You really do have to go far above and beyond to earn that here. And on the note of the FICO board, God those popovers with Simmons First and Discover are obnoxious!!!!! They lock your whole damn screen and make you close the thing to get rid of it. Why not just open a billion pop ups faster than you can close them out while they are at it to make SURE you don't miss this valuable message?

So that looks like it puts you about 60% utilization, I bet when you get it paid off you will be close to the 700 range.

Are you going into IT?
