Returned Item - Closed Card

Postby agp » Sat Jun 29, 2013 6:37 am

I bought some batteries for my camera on Amazon and as soon as they arrived, I found my old battery... I want to return the new ones but I already closed the card I used to buy those. Anyone know what to do in this situation?

Main Card: Amex Platinum
For gas: Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards

I would contact their customer service which I've found to be very good and explain the situation and I'm sure they can help you.

Was it thru a seller or Amazon itself? If it was from a seller it's up to their discretion. With Amazon, they'll probably send you a gc in the amount. There is nothing anyone can do after a credit card acct is closed/canceled. You can't add the money back to another card (the only case you can do this is if it's the same acct, but the acct number has changed, like for identity theft purposes), they most likely won't send you a check (cause that means they are losing a sale). So Amazon gc.
