Moving up the credit tree!

Postby im_mr_awesome » Wed Jun 26, 2013 8:49 pm

I've moved from receiving pre-selected offers from CreditOne bank and other bottom-tier lenders to receiving pre-qualified offers from GE and an application invitation from American Express.

This doesn't mean anything for sure, but it certainly feels good to be offered credit cards I might actually use!

I do wonder how much more likely I am to be approved for these cards since I'm receiving invitations and pre-qualification letters. I've heard the AmEx ones are really just inviting you to apply, and are not a pre-qualification.
Scores on the mend...
FICO: 654 (7/2017, AMEX), Vantage: 663 (CK)
Cards I Use Amex Premier Rewards Gold, Discover IT, Capital One QuickSilver MC, Amex Gold Delta (for the free bag)
Sock Drawer Chase Amazon, AE Visa, CareCredit, several store cards for util padding
Next Card Amex Everyday

Nothing in life is guaranteed but death and taxes. Both of which suck :)

But you are clearly moving up. I'd still say you're a long shot for an Amex based on your scores right now, give it another 25 to 50 points and let the new cards age and I think you'll be in good shape for a charge and getting your foot in the door with them. GE you probably can get now.
